Enlightenment 0.17.1 Finally

08 Feb

For the Fedora 17 users E17.1 was out earlier in the week. However for the F18 users i just published my builds today. If you are installing for the first time this is a usable command to get everything you need to run Enlightenement.

yum install ecore eina eeze evas evas-module_engine_gl_x11 embryo evas-module_loader_* ethumb edje edje-bin eio evas-module_saver_* eet e_dbus e_modules-engage efreet elementary emotion enlightenment

If that does not work let me know. I have had a few people say they could not get enlightenment to run. I think it's because some items were not installed. However we will see.

Updated:03/29/13

Added in edje-bin

Enlightenment 1.7.5 builds

09 Jan

The Enlightenment 1.7.5 builds are up on the server now. Sorry this one took longer to get done. I was slow in this build, and good news is that the packages have been put into Fedora for comment. If i have been reading my e-mails correctly Rahul Sundaram was the one that got them all into Fedora for review. Rahul also created the spec file for evas-generic-loaders, so i have added that to my build as well.

Future

I plan on keeping my builds going until Enlightenment can be updated from Fedora repo. At that time i will stop doing my builds. I am still working on becoming a co-maintainer for Enlightenment in Fedora. Not sure when that will be official, yet i am willing to do it.

Enlightenment 17 Final Release

21 Dec

I have updated my repo with EFL 1.7.4 and Enlightenment 17. This is the final release for enlightenment and you can get my repo package to install from

Fedora 17 x86_64: http://www.edmann.com/Enlightenment/repo/Fedora/17/x86_64/RPMS/enlightenment-repo-0.0.2-1.fc17.x86_64.rpm

Fedora 18 i386 & x86_64: http://www.edmann.com/Enlightenment/repo/Fedora/18/enlightenment-repo-0.0.3-1.fc18.noarch.rpm

I need to update the enlightenment spec file to include all the packages it needs to run in the require field, that should make it easier to install. So take this as my very first release with another being done over the weekend as i clean up the spec file some.

yum install ecore eina eeze evas evas-module_engine_gl_x11 embryo evas-module_loader_* ethumb edje eio evas-module_saver_* eet e_dbus e_modules-engage efreet elementary emotion enlightenment

If you have issues with the yum install let me know. I know there was one person that said eio and libeio were causing issues. If you have issues please post in the comments and let me know about your setup. I am trying to figure out why i cannot replicate this issue.

UPDATE

1. I had built the package and it missed having fontconfig-devel installed on the build server. I had fixed the issue and e-mailed back the person that reported the problem with starting E17. I have been just testing out the build system, and have another issue where the version was not updated. So this will require a force install/update of evas*

2. Why is SVG disabled? It was either a e-mail or irc chat i had and there was some issues with SVG. It was said to build Evas Generic Loaders. Which i have not done that either.

Thanks everyone for feedback. I will post updates on the site to keep people from repeating work.

Fedora 17 Enlightenment Yum Repo

29 Nov

More update for my enlightenment yum repo for fedora 17. I have created a rpm package to install the Enlightenment.repo file and also the gpg pub key. The packages are now signed and will be signed from now on.

yum install http://www.edmann.com/Enlightenment/repo/Fedora/17/x86_64/RPMS/enlightenment-repo-0.0.2-1.fc17.x86_64.rpm

I also built a new 17 test machine to test out the install and found that selinux will prevent enlightenment from starting up on the initial startup. I put it in permissive mode and it was able to start. I put it back to enforcing and it worked fine, then restarted with it in default enforcing and i was still able to get into e17.

In other news i am also bulding 386 and x86_64 machines for Fedora 18. I will post the info on how to install them when i am done, only for those wanting ot test the Fedora 18 beta.
